Numeracy Project
The California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA) is proud to partner with Scholastic and County Offices of Education throughout the state to introduce the California Numeracy Project, a year-long course designed to help students master math standards required to pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE).
The California Numeracy Project:
- Focuses on the 47 standards on the exam and precursor standards that students must understand to be successful.
- Provides research-based instructional routines designed specifically to accelerate achievement for at-risk students.
- Supports teachers with a comprehensive, easy-to-use curriculum, step-by-step lesson plans, and ongoing professional development.
The Numeracy Project is the culmination of a partnership with California Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA), as well as several County Offices of Education to help meet the California graduation challenge.
While it was first developed for Court and Community students, the curriculum has proven to work for ALL students preparing for the CAHSEE, particularly those needing extra support, and can be easily implemented by teachers in a variety of settings.
Read the Numeracy Project White Paper to learn more about how the program was developed and piloted in California classrooms.
