The Califo rnia NGSS Statewide Implementation: Coherent and Student-Centered Science Assessment System is an online professional learning experience d esigned for K-12 academic coaches\, administrators\, curriculum leads\, an d teacher leaders to deepen their understanding and implementation of scie nce assessment in classrooms\, schools\, districts\, and the state.
\n< p>The learning sessions include grade band assessment experiences that all ow participants to develop a shared understanding of the productive use of assessment to inform instruction. They will engage in thinking about asse ssment as a system in order to have a holistic understanding of where stud ents are at in terms of three-dimensional learning. And they will explore the use of tools that allow for the analysis of strengths and limitations of science tasks\, as well as examining assessments with a lens of equity. \nParticipants will register for a grade band to allow their conver sations to focus on the needs of a student group at the center of their sy stem. It is recommended that educators register as teams in order to fully bring this professional learning into their school and district systems.< /p>\n\n
